July's Quick 5: Anberlin, Stone Sour, and more
This month's edition of Quick 5 takes you from the recently signed to the already established. There have been some not-so-hot tunes this summer, but lucky for you, I have been toiling away, scouring the music world for this month's ration of ear candy.
Christina Perri - Jar of Hearts
In the past few weeks, this newly signed artist has gone from being the unknown little sister of Shinedown's former lead guitarist to making a name for herself, chart topping, and appearing on this season's So You Think You Can Dance. I like it.
Stone Sour - Say You'll Haunt Me
This is the first official single from their upcoming album, Audio Secrecy. Frontman Corey Taylor, also of band Slipknot, diversifies with a more mainstream, radio friendly sound. Is it your cup of tea? Judge for yourself below.
Switchfoot - The Sound
Dedicated to John M. Perkins, a man who, by all accounts should have been full of bitterness and hatred, instead spread love to his fellow man. Pair this message with a great band, and you get The Sound.
Anberlin - Impossible
Ever have a band where each time you hear a new song from them, you just crave more? For me, that band is Anberlin. From upcoming album Dark is the Way, Light is a Place, this song is merely the appetizer of what I anticipate to be a fantastic meal.
Ed Kowalczyk - Grace
His name is Ed and you may remember him from such songs as Lakini's Juice, Lightning Crashes, and I Alone. The frontman from Live is back with his solo album, Alive. Couldn't we all use a little Grace?
