Paramore Premieres Monster Video
Monster is the first song released by Paramore since the departure of founding members Josh and Zac Farro. The song was originally released in June as part of the Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon tracklist.
Lyrically, Monsters is heavier and darker than previous tracks. It also seemingly jabs at the departed band members:
"But I'm not the villain
Despite what you're always preaching
Call me a traitor
I'm just collecting your victims
They're getting stronger,
I hear them calling"
The video helps refect the band's frustration as they run through an abandoned hospital, and pound on its walls, reducing the building to rubble--a subtle commentary on their need to break things down and rebuild the band from scratch, perhaps?
Paramore is currently performing a few dates on Warped Tour, and are beginning to write their fourth album, which they hope to start recording at the end of the year, ready for an early 2012 release.
