Evanescence Premiere Video For What You Want

With the release of their self titled, 3rd studio album just around the corner, Evanescence have released the music video for their first single, What You Want. Directed by Meiert Avis, the video features the band performing in front of fans that responded to an open casting call sent out in late July. In an interview with MTV, frontwoman Amy Lee had this to say about the video:

This video is sort of, like, the history of the band. This club is emulating old shows we used to play in the beginning — we used to play this club called Vino's in Little Rock [Arkansas] — it's sort of like back then, the gritty, dirty club, sweaty. And basically, it's also [about] New York, where I've been, [and] where [bassist] Tim [McCord] lived in the past few years since we've been gone. And it's sort of about escaping New York and ... coming back out into the world.

Due out on October 11, 2011, two versions of the album will be released; a standard disc with 12 songs and a deluxe CD/DVD combo featuring 16 songs and behind the scenes videos of the making of the album and the What You Want music video.
