Shane Murphy Biography

Canadian-born Shane Murphy is a seasoned singer-songwriter and performer in the Montreal Blues and club circuit. Since first hitting the music scene in 1996, he has opened for the likes of Grammy Award winner Adele, Mike Doughty, Ashley McIsaac, British Reggae band Steel Pulse, Our Lady Peace, among others. He has appeared at dozens of local and internationally attended festivals, including Canada’s premier showcase for best new music NORTH BY NORTHEAST, the world renowned FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE JAZZ DE MONTREAL, and most recently at the 2010 WINTER OLYMPICS in Vancouver. He was crowned “Best new artist” on the Quebec Blues scene in 2009. Shane’s live performances – a mix of roots/soul rock /blues with a hint of reggae and twist of funk - are raw, honest and soulful.
Currently, Shane is in the process of working on a new studio album, slated for a fall release.
