Over the last few days, British band Gorillaz have been giving away all sorts of freebies via the Christmas advent calendar that they’ve set up on their website. So far fans have been treated to behind the scenes videos, games, and even downloadable masks of their favorite Gorillaz characters.

One of the free gifts included this video of Welcome to the World of Plastic Beach, featuring Snoop Dogg

Fans have been trying to figure out what the final gift would be on Christmas day, and now we know! In a recent interview with Perth Now, band collaborator Jamie Hewlett said, "On Christmas Eve a video for one of the new songs from the iPad album will be released. Then, on Christmas Day fans get the whole album downloaded to their computer for free as a gift."

The yet to be named album was recorded on Damon Albarns iPad while the band toured in America. When asked about the album, he had this to say, ”I didn’t write it before, I didn’t prepare it. I just did it day by day as a kind of diary of my experience in America. If I left it until the New Year to release it then the cynics out there would say ‘Oh well, it’s been tampered with’, but if I put it out now they’d know that I haven’t done anything because I’ve been on tour ever since.”

The Gorillaz wrap up their Australian/New Zealand tour on December 21 in Auckland.
