Anthony Kiedis is probably best known as the lead vocalist for Grammy Award-winning band, Red Hot Chili Peppers. His long-time drug battle is no secret, and he comes off as a fairly tough guy. As of recently, however, he has become known for his emotional response...to Justin Bieber's concert/documentary movie, Never Say Never.
"I sat on an airplane recently, coming from Hawaii to Los Angeles, with Rick Rubin just across the aisle, watching the Justin Bieber movie, 'Never Say Never.' I cried twice during that film and I want the world to know that!"
Kiedis explained his reaction to Q Magazine, adding the following:
"They were doing this very cheesy giveaway of concert tickets to 16-year-old girls. The cheesiness didn't matter -- it was the reaction of the kids. When you saw those little girls crying deliriously, I lost it."
On the plane, Kiedis sat across the aisle from producer and co-president of Columbia Records, Rick Rubin.
"I decided to tell Rick afterwards and he said, 'I was also sobbing during that point in the movie.' There you have it."
There you have it.
Red Hot Chili Peppers will release their next album, I'm With You, on August 30. Check out their first single, The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie, below.
